Efficient & High Quality

Powder Coating

what we offer

Our Services

At Prime Coats, we specialize in powder coating metals, ceramics, and MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) wood. We are one of the only companies in Canada that can powder coat MDF!

Our state-of-the-art infrared powder coating conveyor line is designed to quickly and affordably handle high-volume production runs with consistent results, ensuring every part receives a flawless, uniform finish.

And if you have extra large or heavy parts that need powder coating, we have a traditional powder booth and curing oven for those parts that can’t fit on our conveyor line.

One of the keys to a durable and visually pleasing powder coated finish is a high-quality pre-treatment, so we also offer sandblasting services. It’s critical to remove mill scale, rust, grease, and other debris from your metal parts prior to coating. Sandblasting also roughens metal surfaces to ensure proper powder adhesion. Our outdoor sandblasting station is enclosed, ensuring we can get the job done even when it’s raining or snowing.

The Powder Coating Advantage

Powder coating is superior to traditional MDF finishes

There are many advantages to powder coating your MDF products compared to other finishing processes such as lamination or liquid paint, including:

Uniformity

Powder coating provides a more uniform appearance than liquid paint, as well as a seamless finish, unlike lamination

Durability

Powder coating is durable. Powder coated MDF is resistant to heat, moisture, stains, spills, and minor scratches, and will not peel

Adaptability

The powder coating process can easily accommodate MDF parts of any shape, including pieces with contours, rounded corners, and holes

Environmentally Friendly

Unlike liquid paint, powder does not contain any solvents, volatile organic compounds, or other hazardous air pollutants
